Frequently Asked Questions

Does this plugin send SMS or WhatsApp notifications?
No. The plugin sends email notifications only. For SMS or WhatsApp, it provides developer hooks (ppl_ast_notify_shipped, ppl_ast_notify_delivered) that expose the order and the customer’s billing phone number when an order is shipped or delivered. A developer or a third-party SMS plugin must use these hooks to actually send messages.

Will my existing tracking data from AST or WooCommerce Shipment Tracking still work?
Yes. The plugin reads and writes the standard _wc_shipment_tracking_items order meta, so existing tracking data keeps working with no migration.

Do I need a TrackShip, 17TRACK, or AfterShip account?
Only for live delivery tracking (real-time carrier statuses and auto-Delivered). All other features, including tracking links, statuses, emails, and imports, work without any external account.
